Slit Knots

Dress: AllSaints // Clutch: Brandy Melville // Shoes: Christian Louboutin

My favorite thing about shopping at AllSaints is finding weird, asymmetrical jackets or dresses that don’t fit into the standard envelope of pretty fashion, making them much more closet desirable if you ask me. I found this silk almost mullet dress hanging on one of the front racks begging for a home and being generous, I welcomed it to mine. The dress is longer than what I usually go for but the side slit is high enough to give it a little edge and open the door for possible wardrobe malfunctions, making it more than acceptable. Sometimes, especially in colder months, there are no colors I would rather wear than grays and black (it just feels right) and because of the length of this one, the highest heels are necessary; I decided to look past the neutrals and add the always appropriate pop of red in the sole. Because the best feature on this entire piece is the knot-like fold just above the hip that gives it shape, it was important to work that side (remember that when wearing a piece with similar, attention-seeking details). Put that foot forward and Werk.
