A Shade of Dark
Top: Zara // Skirt: Topshop (last seen here) // Shoes: Zara // Watch: Foreign Exchange // Bag: Stella & Jamie
I’ll never forget the day in high school when a friend-who probably doesn’t wear white after Labor Day-made fun of me for wearing black with navy. There were a good two weeks after that where I was severely scarred and basically had to rethink my entire existence. Ok, that’s a bit dramatic but the scolding certainly left me confused. Luckily, that rule is so outdated that not only is it socially acceptable to mix the two colors but it’s #trending, right Zara?
It has been really difficult for me to take this sweatshirt off since I bought it a few weeks ago, it’s so cozy and the perfect travel companion; the dark, unassuming quality becomes an asset, people might not realize you’ve been wearing the same shirt for three days on your vacation. I love the oversized boxiness of it because, while it works great with skinnies or layered with a tee and leggings, it can also be dressed up with a skirt like this Topshop skater. I do find that colors like neon yellow and turquoise look great and really pop against this color combo but sometimes, it’s best to keep things simple.
