What I really love about being a grownup in LA is that your friends have bomb ass careers (Sorry, mom. Language) and you get to watch things expand. There are bonus points included when one of them opens a dope boutique in your favorite hood and lets you come in and play dress-up at their home away from home - which comes fully equipped with a pooch named Biggie Smalls and a turtle who goes by Beyonce. My girl Kristin opened up Inland right in the heart of Venice and she has everything a free spirit could desire from crystals and hammocks to dresses upon dresses upon bodices you can convince yourself are meant to be dresses...like this one by Acler. Because it made most sense to me to wear it as a dress but I didn’t want my side dunka exposed as I sat and chatted with Biggy, I threw on a pair of white shorts that were about the same length and gave that extra side coverage where the top splits. Shorts and mini skirts are a good way to work with all of those longer sweaters and tanks that almost meet the dress qualifications when you want to go with the one-piece look. While a classy event might call for pants underneath, we all understand that sometimes: No Pants are the Best Pants...and I think Beyonce would agree.
