I hate crop tops. I just hate them. I especially hate them when they come in the form of a soft, cozy, oversized sweater and a color that makes sense in both the dead of winter and middle of summer, it’s too much. Ok, I lie. While I am usually posting images of my favorite belly-baring tops with high-waisted skirts, once in a while there comes a mid-level cut that is appropriate to wear with your standard hip-huggers...this Topshop number is one of them. I love a body chain like this one from Boera (the designer happens to be the sweetest human on the planet) but it is sometimes difficult to pull it off when your not bikinied-up at the pool so a fun crop top paired with a lower-rise bottom is the perfect opportunity. I’m way into the details of the accessory hiding underneath the baggy knit and right next to biggest decision I made as a 15-year-old (that’s a piercing y’all)-I’m a sucker for a pop of turq.

And about those shoes. If you followed my old blog What’s the New Black (RIP) then you know I have a major style crush on Gillian Zinser and a few months ago she teamed up with Closet Rich to sell some pieces from her wardrobe and friends, I scored. They’re an acquired taste and type of heel that causes old people at the The Grove to stare and ask “How do you walk in those?” Very carefully ma'am. The weirdest pieces are my favorite pieces.
