Glitter in the Air
Dress: AllSaints // Shoes: Steve Madden
I am a sucker for two things: AllSaints sequin dresses and champagne in the sun. So, I’ve started a new tradition and have decided to just dress myself up for a party by the pool whenever I feel like it. Maybe I’m still coming down from New Years Eve or maybe it’s the smell of Golden Globes in the air but I am all about a little cocktail number right now. I tend to typically be into a more toned down, thrown together look for nights out but ever since I took this 5 pound (on major sale) dress off January 1st, I have been itchin’ for a reason to wear it again; a weekend afternoon was good enough for me.
The great thing about the right beaded dress is that the look doesn’t require much thought beyond that. I kept it super simple with just the right shade of heel, a simple bracelet and my hair down like any other day (this is in real life too, not just a self-inflicted pool party). The struggle is finding threads that are of quality; so often sequin dresses look like they came from the outlet mall’s Day-After-Christmas Sale even though you dumped last week’s paycheck on it. That’s why I, and you must, score big on the outrageous AllSaints sales. The amazing pieces you live for (including those killer leather jackets) are looking for good homes and are practically given away…50% is a steal friends. I get that sometimes those massive sales have bad timing and you might not be in the market for all things fabulous, so I recommend buying and saving for a rainy day-or a random Sunday by the pool.
